GOING BACK A LONG WAY – 40 YEAR CELEBRATION
It is true to say that it is not always good to be stuck in the past, and certainly SDV have strived to maintain a modern outlook. The company moved to brand new, purpose designed premises in 2005, but insists on maintaining the traditional values of a family firm.
Celebrating 40 years of manufacturing in 2007, Kevin Bowen, the founder, is proud to see his family continuing to grow the business, moving it forward with the 21st Century and even better placed to meet demand with the new premises and a dedicated workforce, some with twenty years service or more with the company.

Vehicles have changed enormously over the years and from supplying primarily to the antiques trade SDV now deals in the largest part with the construction and allied trades, though not exclusively.
In the early days, the antiques market in the UK was renowned worldwide, with foreign visitors, particularly from the near continent, coming to buy in a buoyant, fashionable and interesting market. Most dealers drove estate cars and SDV was happy to provide the strongest, most practical solution for carrying their wares. SDV has sold roof racks to visiting customers from around 20 countries and have shipped to the USA, Australia and Norway.
